TITLE: ARD FACILITATOR
Status: Exempt
REPORTS TO: SPECIAL EDUCATION DIRECTOR OR SUPERVISOR
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's Degree or higher
- Texas Teacher Certification in Special Education
- 3 years experience teaching in special education setting

Instructional Management
- Meets with campus LPAC representative to determine instructional programming and assessment for Bilingual/Special Education students.
- Tracks students with behavioral issues.
- Monitors IEP/BIP progress reports.
- Monitors academic progress and determines students in need of failure/progress ARD
- Coordinates procedure for monitoring student progress
Compliance
- Establishes/Monitors procedure for generating computerized IEP goals and objectives.
- Monitors/Updates district special education report as changes occur, and submit to SEMS/PEIMS special education clerk for input into system.
- Monitors the timelines/paperwork for all ARDs to include ARD notices and parent receipt.
- Acts as a resource for compliance in ARD committee meetings (e.g. annuals and reviews).
- Records ARD proceedings according to guidelines and completes all other ARD data and forms.
- Notifies non-attending parent of ARD proceedings, sends copies, and gets signature(s).
- Places all ARD forms in the student eligibility folders.
- Conducts temporary ARDs, transition ARDs, and GPC ARDs.
- Monitors current ARDC recommendation to ensure follow through.
- Tracks all student removals/withdrawals from campus
Administrative Management
- Arrange Departmental meetings for disseminating and collecting special education information
- Keeps campus administration and special education teachers informed and current on assessment decisions for students.
- Assists with and serves as a resource for pre-ARD staffings.
- Brings placement concerns to the attention of the supervisor.
- Works as a team with the supervisor to assist with the collection of departmental data as required for special education reports.
- Establish/Implement confidentiality procedures.

- Complies with District and Department rules and regulations.

- Is able to obtain the respect and the cooperation of others through respect and leadership.
- Keeps principal, special education director and supervisor informed on events and activities of an unusual nature as well as routine matters related to their accountability.
- Demonstrates flexibility by adjusting rapidly to changes in plans or procedures.

- Consistently supports and cooperates with the administrative team.
- He/She has good attendance and is punctual.
- Works with appropriate faculty and staff for students’ optimum mental and physical development.
Job Demands
- Physical Tasks – Occasional: standing, walking, climbing, bending, crouching, pushing, pulling, reaching above, repetitive motion of hand, wrist, elbow, working at heights, carrying, lifting-lowering 1- 30 lbs. +.
- Physical Exposure – Occasional cold and heat.
- Chemical Exposure – Limited exposure.
Other
- Performs other tasks and assumes such responsibilities as may be assigned by the Special Ed. Director or Special Ed. Supervisor.
