Primary Purpose:
The basic function of this position is to assist and support the administration in maintaining a positive, safe, and effective learning environment.
Qualifications:
Education/Certification:
High school diploma or hold a General Educational Development (GED) certificate
Special Knowledge/Skills:
Ability to follow verbal and written instructions
Ability to communicate effectively
Be knowledgeable or be willing to receive training in Crisis Prevention and Intervention (CPI) Techniques
Be able to administer Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)
Experience:
Experience working with children
Major Responsibilities and Duties:
Student Management
1. Help manage the behavior of assigned student(s). This includes intervening in crisis situations and restraining disruptive or dangerous student as needed.
2. Monitor the halls and the surrounding school premises to ensure the safety of all students, teachers and guests.
3. Check for student hall passes and tardy slips.
4. Report tardies, truancies, and other related incidents to the appropriate school administrator.
5. Assist in the identification and prevention of gang activities.
6. Direct authorized visitors to their proper destination on campus.
7. Report any situation that threatens the learning environment to administrators and campus police.
8. Maintain appropriate radio communication with administration and campus police.

9. Maintain confidentiality.
10. Participate in professional development programs, faculty meetings, and special events as assigned.
11. Follow district safety protocols and emergency procedures.
12. Cover and assist teachers at the discretion of the campus principal.
13. Perform other job-related duties as may be assigned by the campus principal or designee.
